Victoria Sue Johnson

Well I'm finally back to work after a 3 month maternity leave. I haven't been able to update my blog since I have no internet access at home. So, quite a lot has happened.

Victoria (Vickie) Sue Johnson was born on April 11th, 2011 at Skagit Valley Hospital. She came into the world at 6:30pm and was 6lbs, 7oz. My water broke along with my first (and very strong) contraction around 11pm on the 10th. I woke up Dan and gave him a chance to shower and wake up a little bit....but then we needed to go, and now! By the time we got to the hospital my contractions were about 2 minutes apart and I was almost 3 cm dialated. We waited for about an hour before they got us into a room and gave me an epidural. From then on out, it was a waiting game. We slept through most of the night quite comfortably. They finally had to induce me around 4pm on the 11th since it had been so long since my water had broken. Around 6pm I started pushing and out she came...a beautiful baby GIRL!!! (we waited to find out the sex-so glad we did!)

We were sent home on the afternoon of the 12th...sore and tired. Come to find out later that her OP birth caused a fractured tailbone and crushed urethra-something that I am still struggling with but slowly getting better every day. These 3 months have gone by so fast, much faster than I ever expected them to go. I'm back to work now and Vickie has been spending the last couple of days with G'ma Johnson and doing great! They both have made the process of returning to work so much easier on me.

Anyways....here's the pictures from the last 13 weeks (4 months)
