Tackling our first cold :(

Vickie got her first bug...and a pretty bad one at that. She woke up a little stuffy and 2 days later could hardly breathe out her poor little nose. She had no fever and was still relatively in a good mood...so I went ahead and took her to daycare. Around 10am the daycare lady called me concerned because Vickie was having bloody noses and she wasn't sure what to do. I gave the doctor a ring and he told me to go ahead and bring her in. Over the next hour at work I looked online for possible causes and immediately calmed down. From what I read, unless the nose was flowing with blood, it was probably just a broken capilary. Perhaps I got a little too aggressive with the nose sucker. When I picked her up for her doctor's appointment, the amount of blood was definately exagerated but....

The doctor looked her over, no fever, no ear infection, not in her lungs...just wait it out and she'll get over it eventually. I took her home for the weekend. Not only was it her first time being sick, but we were also home alone all weekend while Dan was out of town. All that hoping and praying that I could take her pain away even worked! By Saturday morning, I was sick as well...and by Sunday night when Dan got home-so was he.

We are all feeling a lot better now, still a bit congested but MUCH better. Here is a video of Vickie's latest milestone...singing!!! Every time we get her into the car, she sings for us :) I figured this was the best video for this post considering the wonderful string of snot put on display at the end of it. Enjoy!!!

Ugh. I still remember the first time we all came down with the flu as a family. There's really nothing worse. Glad you are all feeling better!
